COVID19 Genome Analysis

Massive Bioinformatics is working with public health laboratories in Turkey to support the current COVID-19 pandemic. This includes long read sequencing of the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 and bioinformatics. Our shotgun analysis covers not only the  SARS-CoV-2 but also the other co-infection agents of interest. This gives more powerful information for epidemiologists to understand the disease mechanics.

Massive bioinformatics offers flexible analysis options for scientist to assist their variable studies. Besides the custom analyzes, now we present a new fully automatic software for  SARS-CoV-2 genome anaysis. The nCOV19 Genome Analyzer software takes oxford nanopore raw fast5 data and anaylze until the pyhlogenetic tree construction without any configuration. This software is licensed by Massive Bioinformatics and developed for exclusively for COVID-19 breakout.

As Massive Bioinformatics, we analyze COVID19 genome both with amplicon and shotgun based methods. Using Artic protocol its convenient to analyze COVID19 genome with low amount of data, hence its possible obtain high coverage consensus genome with lower price. Shotgun based protocol offers to discover new mutations, indels and co-infection agents without an amplification step. Our new analysis software makes easier to analyze COVID19 genome both amplicon or shotgun based methodology.

Massive Bioinformatics offers metagenomic analyzes standardized using Illumina systems as well as long amplicons produced with Oxford Nanopore technology. Shotgun sequencing methods stand out in metagenomic analyzes for organisms such as viruses that do not have protected regions. In addition, it is possible to achieve many different purposes such as the discovery of new enzymes, the detection of antimicrobial resistance genes, the formation of the entire genome of the microorganisms in the environment, and time-dependent change analyzes.
